BEIS Annual Site Visit

It was great to have BEIS visit The Lapwing Estate to see the progress being made on our novel Reverse Coal project. Phase 2 of the Greenhouse Gas Removal Programme is now underway, piloting our carbon sequestration and storage process. Reverse Coal is a key part of the larger vision at The Lapwing Estate, demonstrating how we can restore and manage degraded lowland peat whilst simultaneously enhancing food production.

The team from UKCEH joined the visit and showcased the ongoing paludiculture trials and flux tower experiments sited on The Estate. These are providing valuable data sources reporting on how this change in land use restores the environment.
