Lapwing Energy’s Reverse Coal project has been chosen for Phase 2 of BEIS’s Greenhouse Gas Removal programme to demonstrate our novel carbon capture and storage solution. Reverse Coal is an engineered solution to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and lock it up in the geological reserve. 

Lapwing Energy completed Phase 1 in 2021, producing a feasibility study developing the science behind the concept. Phase 2 is a £3m contract R&D to demonstrate this concept in a real-world environment.
