Lapwing Energy’s Reverse Coal project has been chosen for Phase 2 of DESNZ’s Greenhouse Gas Removal programme to demonstrate our novel carbon capture and storage solution.
Reverse Coal is an engineered solution to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere and lock it up in the geological reserve.
Lapwing Energy completed Phase 1 in 2021, producing a feasibility study developing the science behind the concept. Phase 2 is a £3m R&D contract to demonstrate this concept in a real-world environment.
